The excitement over the new creams was crazy! However companies were quick to notice the shortcomings of the new product - as in the shade range is too limited, the product is greasy, etc - and they introduced the CC creams.
The first brands to bring out the CC creams were Chanel and Nip Fab who brought out a great shade range. A CC cream - to clear up any confusion - is a color correct cream. It has more functions then the BB cream and a better selection of shades. There has been a shortage of brands who have jumped on the CC band wagon though, preferring to wait.......and now we know why....
We have a DD cream.
No seriously.
The DD cream, does everything your BB and CC cream does - with anti aging properties. So not only do you get the standard - primer, moisturiser, SPF, coverage and correction - but you get your anti aging on too.
Julep are the first company to create the cream and it will start shipping out in June. At the rate this is going - does anyone think brands can afford to keep up with this?!?!?
Beauty fads can be annoying. They are great if the brand caters for the trend already such as orange lipstick or dewy skin but if a brand doesn't already make the product, then it can create a rush. This rush results in terrible product, limited shade selections and confusion. I think women can find the BB/CC/DD debacle very confusing. Hell, even I get confused!
It can put a lot of pressure on a brand to perform quickly and often times, products that are quickly brought out to satisfy a trend are not big sellers. BB creams will eventually be replaced by things that can do everything. I am waiting for someone to develop a full coverage version which will drive consumers mental!!!
So yeah....how long until the EE cream is released?
