I was still a bit shocked. Zombies! Rachel from Chloe`s work is dead. I actually killed her! Well she had turned into a zombie, so in a way it was not her. But still.... And right now I did not know if Chloe was still alive...Or where she were! My cellphone was back at the apartment. Well done Johnny on forgetting it today!!! Of all the freaking days to forget the phone!!
There were still shambling people...Zombies around. How could this have happened this fast? What the hell was going on? Just across from the Art gallery where Chloe worked there is a small pub called the Winchester. I entered warily, but to my relief it was totally empty. Although that meant no Chloe as well. As I went outside again I noticed one of the zeds heading my way. So I quickly ran inside of the gallery. That was....A bit stupid! 3 ugly zeds were slowly turning around to face me as I noisily entered! I took one out with the gun but the other 2 threw themselves at me! A little dance with the first and it was down. The last however...It seems that some zombies remain some of their reflexes from their former life! Close fight but eventually I managed to break its neck as we tumbled about. I checked for cuts but beside some bruising I had gotten of safely. With these around I can hardly blame Chloe for not staying at work.
Taking the back door I almost ran into a zombie! FFS! Per chance or reflex (or just plain dumb luck) one shot took it out. And then the skies darkened...In more ways than one. My shots had attracted some unwanted attention in the shambling forms of more zeds! AND it looked like rain soon! Come to Gravesend they said. It is nice here thay said. As I grumbled away I almost failed to notice the charging zombie! I swear some of those bastards are fast! I sidestepped him and his charge took him face first into the wall. And I could not help myself for laughing out loud at the comical scene!

It was soon back to harsh reality as I looked up to see a black chopper passing in the sky! It was going pretty fast so I am sure they did not see me (or could not care) but the zombies took an interrest and followed the sound of the chopper. Fine by me, it was getting a bit crowded around here. I ran into the next house, ready for anything. Well I thought I was ready! 2 oldtimers...Now turned zeds was looking back at me. Her in her nightgown and he was in his bathrobe....OPEN bathrobe! Well I lost a point of my sanity there I think!!! One shot took her down and he was slow to react. The apartment was a mess so nothing of value was found. I then heard a noise from upstairs! Slowly I aproached, opened the door ajar and peaked inside, gun at the ready.
Only to feel the cold steel touching the side of my head! I froze and frantically tried to say somethin when I heard a well know voice say : "Hello love! Took your damn time getting here!" After the little reuniting we took some time to tell what had happened to us through the day. Chloe got the shotgun from The Winchester. Rachel had ben killed outside the Winchester. (And as you know by now, later by me.) Chloe had then taken refuge in this building but could not get out again. Not before now. "Where the hell did you get the hockey stick?" I asked as I do not remember a place to play it here in Gravesend. Her answer " From a zombie. And I like to have a bit of distance from me to the zombies thank you!" No point in arguing with that (or her) So I let her have it and we got on the way. As we went outside the zombies were waiting for us. "We can sneak pa.." was all I managed to say before the shotgun spoke! Both zeds fell and stayed there! "Whoops! I think it was the last of the ammo for this!" Damn...ANd the rain had really turned into a downpour. We did not get far before we agreed to hunker down inside The Winchester. As we sat in there I will to my dying day remember the face of her as she saw I brought bacon butties!
THOUGHTS ON THE GAME
COME ON! 3 times I managed to roll doubles for activation. Weather, chopper and then time to hunker down! As the mission was to get of the board I deemed the misson partly failed. I found Chloe and we both live. This mission got a total of 17 zombies! I started with 6 zombies randomly put on the table. Chloe made a double one on the shotgun so no more ammo. But she has the hockey stick which is pretty good. I got Lone to choose in secret where she would be. And we laid 6 tokens out. One was marked as being her. It worked pretty well. I needed to clear the room before I could check if this was the right location. I think I deserve a cold beer now!!!
One of my dogs found the game quite interresting!
